Cos d’Estournel, quite simply, can do no wrong at the moment with perfect, or potentially perfect, scores from The Wine Advocate for each of the last three vintages. The newly-crowned 97-100pt 2018 has been released today at GBP 1776. It got the potential perfect score from Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Jeff Leve and Antonio Galloni who called it 'one of the wines of the vintage'. The Brilliant second wine of Cos, Les Pagodes de Cos, which Lisa Perrotti-Brown called 'a very serious second wine!' has been released at GBP 430. Cos d'Estournel Blanc 2018 has been released at GBP 1140.

Following its namesake and neighbour Pichon Lalande, this morning sees the release of one of the most consistent, and consistently brilliant, wines from the modern Bordeaux era: Pichon Baron. It is available at GBP 1404Lisa Perrotti-Brown (97-99pts)dubs it “Full-bodied, voluptuous and oh-so-seductive” whilst Jeb Dunnuck (97-99pts) simply calls it “a brilliant, brilliant wine that's in the same class as the 1990, 2000, 2005, 2009, and 2010.”. Matthew Jukes (19+/20pts) goes so far as to call it “one of my favourite Pichon Barons of all time.”
