The great Chateau Margaux was released this morning at GBP 5112. Alongside the signature aromatics, which are utterly pure, defined, and intense, yet complex and beguiling, there is a sensation to the tannins which gives a mouthfeel quite unlike most of the other 2018s. We aren’t the only ones who were so seduced: no less than 3 critics give potential for 100 points.
This year’s Pavillon Rouge offered today at GBP 1788 is also a hugely impressive wine, one of the best to date, with a richness and power that marks it out against previous iterations. It comes highly recommended.
Likewise the Pavillon Blanc, released at GBP 1932, was perhaps the standout white of the whole vintage. The only challenge will be getting hold of it as there is less than half the typical production available.
All these wines will be offered on strict allocation such will be the demand.
