Dark youthful ruby. Amazing fruit on the nose, with blackberry, plum, fresh roses and chocolate. Full-bodied, with loads of fruit and supersilky tannins. This is long and balanced, with focused fruit. Even better than I remember. Fabulous. Still needs time.--1997 Italian blind retrospective. Best after 2009. 515 cases made. — JS
