Tasting note: This is easily the best bottle that I have had of the '92 VV as several prior examples possessed under ripe green tannins with insufficient mid-palate sap to buffer them. By contrast, here the nose is expressive and spicy with delicious and still vibrant flavors that understandably do not possess the density and power of the best in the tasting but in the context of the vintage, this is quite a nice effort. Approachable now though it should continue to hold. Note: several prior bottles have been relatively reserved and austere with some Musigny spice and solidly structured flavors that lack adequate flesh and sap to buffer the tannins. As such, the wine comes across as unbalanced and lacking in grace and charm. Worse, the finishing tannins have a decided green tinge to them and while not unpleasant, it's clear that they're drying out.
