Chateau d’Yquem has few if any peers but if you had to single out one wine that regularly competes on the same level, Doisy Daene’s top cuvee ‘L’Extravagant’ would stake a good claim. As the name suggests this is a rich, opulent Sauternes that wows and beguiles in equal measure - “a magnificent Doisy Daene that certainly lives up to its name,” writes Martin. Indeed it does.
