Fresh, light and flinty nose – grapefruit and lime along with papaya and white flowers. Nicely weighted body with throroughly pleasant citrus and pear fruit; not too overblown or exotic. Has a pleasing waxiness without being cloying. Good value.
The second wine from the owners of Haut-Brion and La Mission-Haut-Brion, the 2012 La Clarte is a blend of 58% Semillon and 42% Sauvignon Blanc. This strong effort boasts beautiful notes of apricots, honey, candle wax and melons in a rich, full-bodied, concentrated format. A stunner, it should age effortlessly for a decade or more. [58SM/42SB] Pale lemon; semillon fat dominated on the nose at present; fresh, ripe fruited wine with a lively acidity, moderate complexity and good length. Very nice in 2015-23 15.5 / 16.5 [M.Schuster, Bordeaux Mar/Apr 2013]
Bright, with pure green plum, macadamia nut, green almond, honeysuckle and orange blossom notes. Very pure and refined through the finish. Displays ample weight, stopping shy of being overbearing. Tasted non-blind. —J.M.
A firm a fresh wine with lemons and minerals. Medium body, with bright acidity and a lemon, mineral and fruity finish. Lots of apples and pears.
