Tasting Notes and Scores

89-91

Neal Martin

The 2017 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru has a sultry, primal, backward bouquet that does not convey the same brightness as the La Garenne at the moment. The palate is fresh on the entry, presenting lime cordial and orange peel notes and a fine bead of acidity, and quite saline toward the latter half, though not yet quite delivering the same precision as either the La Garenne or the Chalumaux.
Vinous, Jan 2019
