Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2010 Attunga 1865 Shiraz has moved into a meaty, savory, black-olive-laden phase of its development. It's full-bodied and velvety, perhaps a bit coarse in feel, adding dark-chocolate notes on the still-firm finish. While there's structure for additional cellaring, I'd prefer to drink it over the next few years.

The first vintage to be stoppered with a screwcap (half was still stoppered with a cork but this bottle was screwcapped) and the first with a grey label. A cooler year. Very deep, glowing, polished garnet – extremely concentrated. Very focused. Sweet liquorice nose. Beautiful silky texture and great balance. Real juiciness and a little bit of leather. Dry but not drying finish. Quite captivating. Firm impression of dry spices but masses of sleek fruit too. Lots of potential. (JR)
