Tasting Notes and Scores
Dill, clove, peppercorn and blueberry. Timo Mayer's adoration of whole-bunch is evident across this mid-weighted Syrah. The herbal nourishment and structural shape the stems impart, evident. The tannins, a slither of anise-doused tension, guiding the flavors long. A gritty, somewhat unresolved finish that will find its way with patience. Drink or hold. Ned Goodwin MW, JamesSuckling.com

100% whole bunch. Gorgeously layered aromas of blueberry and bramble, pomegranate and violet, carpaccio, and black pepper. My unedited notes say: “Love this nose!” It’s wild but not unruly. And followed by a peppery explosion on the palate. Very textural powdery mouth-filling tannins, chalky almost. A lot of concentration at the core despite its elegance and lightness. The finish is super fresh and lifted. My favourite wine of the line-up. 94pts Victoria Mason, Bordeaux Index
Such a pretty nose. Black tea leaf, black olive tapenade, lots of black pepper, as well as cured beef. The density of the nose is met by grace and elegance on the palate. Very detailed with fine, granular tannins which coat the palate and bright acidity. Graceful violets and iris and wet stones. The finish has a bitter herb, amaro twist, and fresh hedgerow fruit. 93+pts Robert Mathias, Bordeaux Index
