Tasting Notes and Scores
From the high-altitude Grand Cras section of its appellation, Brun’s 2010 Morgon – half of which sojourns in older barriques – features black raspberry fruit garlanded with violets; laced with rose hip, mace, and coriander; and infused with smoked meat and beef marrow. For now at least – three weeks after bottling – this rather Syrah-like Beaujolais is relatively lean and firm in feel, but it finishes with outstanding persistence of fruit, meat, and spice. Look for short-term filling out and 3-4 years of satisfaction. Drink: 2011 - 2015
