The 2018 Beau-Site is a rich, hearty Saint-Estèphe that should drink well with only a few years in bottle. Black cherry, gravel, cured meats, smoke and grilled herbs add character to this expressive, inviting Saint-Estèphe from the northern part of the appellation. The blend is 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot.

The 2018 Beau-Site has a fragrant and tightly wound bouquet with blackberry, briary, crushed violets and iris flowers. This is nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, thick tannins that grip the mouth. This is a rather "brawny" Saint-Estèphe but it has charm and the 13.8% alcohol is less than others in the appellation.
