Tasting Notes and Scores

87 LP

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Bouscaut has an oaky nose with plum preserves, baked blackberries, earth and bay leaves aromas plus a waft of smoked meats. The medium-bodied palate is firm and chewy with a good core of rugged fruit and a grippy finish.

The oak is a little more evident here than on the three Graves 2017s just tasted in the UGC line-up. More spice and a hint of smoky reduction. More serious and yet still has lovely freshness. Mildly chewy, full, deep and creamy. Very good and persistent. (JH)
