Barrel sample. Deepest black-cherry colour. Quiet nose with just a hint of crushed stones and blackcurrant. The tannins are dry but fine-grained and it has an attractive lightness of touch compared with the density of many. (JH)

Tasted blind. Slightly dead-looking crimson. Spicy edge to the nose. Sweet and a little tarty. Because of the oak perhaps? Not quite refreshing enough. (JR)
