Tasting Notes and Scores
Dark berries and flowers here with hints of nut shell. Medium-bodied. Linear tannins and a firm finish. Juicy.
James Suckling
Sweet black cherry, bilberry and cassis fruits from the first moments, this has impressive stucture and is well built, with a slow build to the tannins as it opens through the palate. Spiced black chocolate and slate on the finish, ticks all the Left Bank boxes, closes down on the finish where the concentration threatens to overwhelm, but a clear sign that this is a vintage worth your time. Harvest September 8 to 27.
Decanter
59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot. There’s a slight pyrazine note on the nose and then the flavour of meat extract on the palate. Lots of definition, if not subtlety. Long. It shouldn’t disappoint anyone but it's all about punch rather than substance. (JR)

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot. Cask sample. Reserved aromatically. Hint of blackcurrant leaf. Dry and savoury with a marked, chalky freshness. Feels like there’s a bit of limestone terroir? Chewy finish. Correct but a little abrasive. (JL)
