The 2022 Talbot is another impressive effort from the château. Savory and nuanced, the 2022 its wonderfully energetic in the glass. Dried herbs, incense, tobacco, menthol and licorice all build in a potent, virile Saint-Julien that checks all the right boxes.

A second wine with finesse and character, offering flowers and berries. Medium body. Fine tannins. Crushed berries.

This has a lovely sweet damson fruit texture, opens up to show some attractive redcurrant and rosemary, with a bitter finish and struggles to overcome drying tannins on the finish. The 1st wine at Talbot is exceptional in this vintage, I would suggest looking there.

Aromas of rich berries, loamy soil, cherries and licorice introduce the 2022 Connetable de Talbot, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and impressively concentrated wine that represents some 38% of the estate's production this year.
