Tasting Notes and Scores
The nose is ripe and clean with good definition: blackberry, bilberry and a touch of cedar. The palate is ripe on the entry with smoky dark fruit, nice weight and delineation with good persistency on the finish. Very well crafted Mon. Janoueix! Tasted April 2011.

Another of the notable estates and wines benefitting from the talents of Jean-Philippe Janoueix, this outstanding wine from a humble appellation displays sweet, smoky barbecue notes along with blackberry and blueberry fruit and hints of licorice, incense and graphite. It achieves a level of quality and satisfaction well above its humble origin. Drink it over the next 5-7 years. Drink: 2013 - 2020

2010: One of the finest generic, lower level wines is La Croix-Mouton, which is owned and made by Jean-Philippe Janoueix. A strong effort, the opaque purple-colored 2010 offers up notes of creosote, blackberries, licorice and background oak. Medium-bodied, richly fruity, broad and savory, it should be enjoyed over the next 5-6 years.
