Tasting Notes and Scores
Immediately things get a little exotic in the shape of seductive ripe fruit aromas, leading into a grippy palate of rich black cherries, but still with a lovely burst of freshness running through it. It's well balanced and I really like this - you could easily keep it for longer, but drink now if you prefer the fruit to be punchy and full of fragrance and swagger.

Has Dauzac ever made a wine this good? Deep ruby/purple, with notes of graphite and black currants followed by some spicy oak and licorice in a creamy, plump succulent texture that almost reminds me of a Right Bank wine, this 2009 is full-throttle, dense and super-concentrated. It is an amazing Dauzac. Drink it over the next 25 years.

This is very dense and concentrated with chewy tannins. Lots of ripe fruit. Slightly woody tannins. Needs time to come together. A little tough now. Try in 2020.
James Suckling
The 2009 Dauzac has a lively and fragrant bouquet with bright blackberry and bilberry fruit, quite intense and delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, dark cherries and bilberry fruit, well balanced with a precise finish. What a delightful Margaux.
