Wine Advocate

This is really tangy with lots of dried citrus fruit and honey character hints of botrytis. Full body, medium sweet, and a long finish.

James Suckling

90-93 WS

A juicy, tropical style, with mango and guava flavors laced with toasted hazelnut, orange cream and piecrust notes. Very flattering, but good underlying zip.-J.M.

Wine Spectator

90-92 NM

The 2011 de Malle has a satisfyingly delineated bouquet with fresh pineapple and white peach aromas that is more a case of finesse than power. The palate has a lovely coconut-tinged, viscous entry with a fine thread of acidity. The oak is rather dominant towards the finish, although it has decent fruit to maintain balance. This may offer more personality after bottling, and it has good potential. Drink 2014-2025.

Neal Martin

87-89 MS

Light and closed to smell, with a touch of mineral; nicely balanced in a lighter style, moderate concentration, medium sweet (in today’s context) lively acidity; clean, direct, pineappley, with a nice tenacity of flavour and good light length. Pretty, aperitif style. [M.Schuster, Bordeaux Mar/Apr 2012]

Drink 2018-2026 RS 128 g/l, TA 4.0 g/l, pH 3.6. Lively fruit with a prickle of sulphur on the nose. Rich, generous and dense but could do with a little more freshness. Oily texture and almost a touch savoury on the finish. (JH) 13.4%
