Tasting Notes and Scores
I've never been a huge fan of this vintage from Jonathan Maltus; I think he's made better and improved his winemaking since this. The 2007 Le Dôme has a dainty bouquet with maraschino cherry and fresh strawberries, a little monotone at first but gaining definition all the time in the glass and displaying fine focus. The palate is fresh on the entry, quite crisp and taut, almost pinched, in fact. After the pleasing aromatics, this feels a little disjointed, and the oak is not as deftly integrated as its peers. Perhaps more bottle age will meld it together? Tasted March 2015.
