Beautiful richness through the palate, good quality, precision and depth, and plenty of Pomerol punch, although with more of a bite than usual. This delivers a ton of graphite and pencil lead, but also cassis, blackberry, earthy tannins, good stuff.

The 2021 Feytit-Clinet is a relatively soft, easygoing wine for a Pomerol that tends to be both brooding and explosive. Crushed red berry fruit, rose petal, spice and lavender are nicely pushed forward. Today, my impression is that the 2021 will be a wine to drink on the younger side, while some of the more important vintages mature in the cellar. The 2021 Feytit-Clinet has a very perfumed bouquet of ripe red cherries, cassis and orange zest, well defined and yet understated. The palate is smooth and poised on the entry and a little powdery in texture, with a hint of dark chocolate toward the finish. Certainly a lighter style of Feytit-Clinet and, though well-balanced, it just misses the élan that has distinguished recent vintages. Drink over the next 15 years.
