The 2014 Grand-Corbin-Despagne was impressive from barrel and that continues to be the case now that this Saint Emilion is in bottle. The bouquet is quite sensual with layers of ripe redcurrant and raspberry fruit, well-integrated oak and just a hint of black truffle and smoke emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, well-judged acidity, harmonious and focused with bright black cherries and raspberry coulis on the vibrant and persistent finish. Bravo—this is an excellent Grand-Corbin Despagne (but I told you that back in April 2015).

The 2014 Grand Corbin Despagne is wonderfully delicate and nuanced in the glass, with silky, polished tannins that convey finesse. Sweet red cherry, red currant, rose petal, mint and spices come together in a delicate, finessed wine long on class and personality. There is a lot to like in the 2014. Tasted two times.
