Aromas of dark berries, cherries and pencil shavings, framed by a touch of new oak, introduce the 2023 Grand Corbin-Despagne, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and polished wine that's supple, suave and lively, with melting tannins and a gently vanillin-inflected finish.

75% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. 45 hl/ha. Cask sample. Lifted red-berry aroma. Plenty of zest and energy, the fruit layered, lively and fresh. Mid-palate weight, fine but firm tannins and persistence on the finish. Harmonious. (JL)
