Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2021 Grand Puy Ducasse is another strong showing from a château that has made important strides of late. Deep and savory, the 2021 offers up a host of strong Cabernet Sauvignon inflections to complement its dark-fleshed fruit. Bright saline notes bring it all together on the deep, structured finish, adding notable energy and vibrancy. Tasted two times.

An attractive wine, the 2021 Grand-Puy-Ducasse exhibits aromas of dark berries, sweet plums, cedar wood and warm spices. Medium-bodied, deep and layered, it's impressively serious and structured, with bright acids, powdery tannins and a penetrating finish. Under the direction of Anne Le Naour, this 40-hectare estate is seeing significant investments, and the results are really beginning to show. Tasted three times.

The 2021 Grand Puy Ducasse has a tight, backward nose at first, unfolding to offer tobacco-infused black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins, modest depth, fine acidity and a slightly rustic finish. Not bad considering the vintage.

Some bramble fruit on the nose. Savoury, almost leathery. Bone dry. Uncompromising with tannins to the fore on the finish. Needs a lot of time and some chewy food. Light finish.
