A soft, floral almost Margaux like nose. Blackberry and vanilla. Quite sensuous. Very smooth, seamless palate with notes of ripe blackberry, espresso, leather and pain grille. There is a touch of dryness on the finish. Again so supple and corpulent, masking the structure underneath. Drink from 2008. Tasted November 2004.

Showing far more impressively from bottle than it ever did from cask, this wine has turned out to be an outstanding Langoa Barton. It reveals a deep, saturated purple color and an expansive, sweet nose of earthy black currants, plum, and melted licorice. Structured, dense, chewy, with full body, good acidity, and plenty of tannin, this is undeniably a wine for patient connoisseurs, or as the French say, a vin de garde. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2035.

Full medium ruby. Aromas of black fruits, violet and mint. Intensely flavored and rather muscular; this possesses excellent fruit but the wine's firm acids, as well as its oak component, currently have the upper hand. Finishes with very good length.
