Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco and wild flowers meld together in the 2014 Latour-Martillac. Unusually supple and fruit-driven, the 2014 offers lovely up-front intensity, but then loses just a touch of persistence on the mid-palate and finish.

66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot. Glossy black fruit, plenty of intensity and richness leading to a dry finish that has soft tannic flesh making this very drinkable now. Attractive bitter chocolate and black olive notes on the finish. Deliciously meaty. (RH)
