The high point in the Mouieux portfolio this year is the 2019 Latour à Pomerol, a terrific wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, sweet berries, rose petals, cigar wrapper and loamy soil. Full-bodied, ample and concentrated, it's seamless and layered, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a vibrant, beautifully balanced profile.

The 2019 Latour à Pomerol is elegant, resonant and super-expressive. Succulent dark cherry and red plum fruit give the 2019 tons of appeal. Tar, graphite, rose petal, menthol and dark spice overtones add layers of gravitas over time, with muscular tannins that build into a crescendo of aromas, flavors and textures. 100% Merlot. Mouth-filling fruit and flavour. Positively oozes on the palate, the texture supple and smooth. Very fine tannins with well-integrated oak in the background. Despite the extravagant nature manages to stay in balance. (JL)
