Tasting Notes and Scores
Wonderful aromas of currants and blackberries with hints of spices. Full body, with fabulous tannins and a long and creamy texture to the finish. I love the depth of fruit to this. Best ever from here. Great value for the vintage. Try in 2017.

A wine with lots of flesh and chewy tannins. Full and round, with a lovely texture and finish. Long. These guys are on a roll here. Cazes family of Lynch-Bages. 57 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 34 percent Merlot, 7 percent Cabernet Franc and 2 percent Petit Verdot.

Really vibrant, with lovely notes of plum, violet and cherry preserves laced with chalky cut that stretches out the finish. Very, very solid. ââ¬âJ.M.

The Les Ormes de Pez has a vivacious bouquet with ripe blackberry, briary and cedar fruit â nicely defined and a little more exuberant that its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a core of ripe blackberry and raspberry fruit laced with white pepper, leading to a nicely composed, slightly fleshy finish. Forward and alluring â this is a great Saint Estèphe that should be afforded a decade in the cellar. Tasted November 2012.

Tasted at Lynch-Bages and the UGC, the vineyard suffered some hail damage and some parcels lost as much as 30-40% of the crop and the yield which is 44hl/ha. The Les Ormes de Pez is a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot raised in 45% new oak. It has a very sensual, very pure bouquet with dark cherries, boysenberry, wild hedgerow, mint and a touch of vanilla, much more feminine than the wines of the past. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins on the entry, very good ripeness here and the Cabernet Sauvignon is really in harmony with the ripe Merlot. Voluminous and silky smooth towards the finish, this is an outstanding Les Ormes de Pez. Drink 2015- Tasted March 2011.

Cru Bourgeois St Estèphe [57CS/34M/7CF/2PV] Dense, rich, finely tannic, brisk middleweight with real ââ¬Ëmatterââ¬â¢ for its proportions; sweetly, freshly ripe, generous wine, juicy and dense and yet not tiring because of the acidity; fleshy and rich, the low yield making for an unusually rich Ormes de Pez, with its tannins beautifully covered by the overall richness of flavour. A very fine performance. 2016-30 [M.Schuster, Bordeaux Mar/Apr 2011]

A fleshy, attractive, up-front style of wine with plenty of sweet cherry and black currant fruit along with a hint of licorice, this wine is pure, medium-bodied and very fresh, with surprisingly low acidity for a 2010. Drink it over the next decade. Drink: 2013 - 2023

2010: This dense purple-colored 2010 exhibits dark raspberry and blueberry fruit notes, less power and structure than its neighbor De Pez, but more finesse, elegance and fruit forwardness. This impressively endowed effort should drink nicely for 10-15 years.
