Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2020 Malescasse has a really attractive bouquet of brambly red berry fruit, well defined and displaying crushed stone and incense aromas; the oak here is very well assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, and rounded and silky in texture. Mulberry and black plum notes tinged with vanilla appear toward the finish. This is a lovely Haut-Médoc. - vinous.com

The 2020 Malescasse is dark, fleshy and wonderfully expressive. Merlot takes center stage in this juicy, inviting Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois. Blackberry jam, chocolate, licorice, cloves and expresso give the 2020 its dark, luscious personality. The flavor profile feels a bit ripe, but that could also be the barrel sample.

Cask sample taken 12 April. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot. Aged in barrel (30% new).
Dark purplish crimson. Lively, well-integrated nose. Round, supple texture without much obvious tannin or oak influence â but this is just the sort of early-maturing red bordeaux that would be great for an airline. Juicy and well balanced even if not a serious player.
