A spectacular blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon offers lots of honeyed melons, tropical fruit and subtle oak. Brilliant!

Tasted at the Union de Grand Cru in London. This estate has been producing excellent white wines of late and the 2010 has a lot to offer. It is bestowed with a fragrant lime and passion fruit tinged bouquet with hints of melted wax. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, well-integrated oak and a lovely spice tinged finish that lingers long on the mouth. Very fine. Tasted November 2012.

The Malartic-Lagraviere has a well defined, minerally nose with fine definition and poise. The palate has fresh green lime on the entry, crisp and tense with great precision on the green apple, lime and lemon zest exit. One of the best white wines that I have tasted out of barrel at this estate. Tasted April 2011.

Cru Classe Pessac-Leognan (14+%) [80SV/20SM] Ripe citrus Sauvignon to small; large scale, ample, fleshy wine, supported by a firm acidity; long, powerful, hugely fruity wine, very ripe in flavour, almost unctuous in texture but with the acidity to define it, and with excellent length. Exciting and satisfying in its showy style. Accessible young, but will likely age perfectly as well. 2014-22+ [M.Schuster, Bordeaux Mar/Apr 2011]
