Tasting Notes and Scores
Another top-notch Margaux savvy readers should snatch up is the 2015 Château Marojallia. Which comes from a tiny estate owned by Philippe Porcheron, with the wine made by Muriel Andraud and Jean-Luc Thunevin, with consulting advice from Michel Rolland. From a 70/30 split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot harvest between September 30th and October 12th, this beauty boasts a thrilling, medium to full-bodied, concentrated personality as well as classic notes of blackcurrants, smoke tobacco, graphite, and flowers. It has the ripe, sexy fruit quality that was easy to get in the vintage, yet also has a stacked mid-palate, notable structure, and terrific purity of fruit. If I had multiple bottles, I’d probably drink one today, yet it should benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and keep for two decades or more.

The 2015 Marojallia, a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, has a clean and pure floral bouquet with rose petal-infused raspberry and crushed strawberry fruit. The oak is nicely integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, crisp acidity, nicely balanced with quite a structured, maybe short finish that should gain more volume with bottle age. Give this three or four years in bottle because there is wonderful freshness here and a second bottle evidenced more complexity. Anticipated maturity: 2020 - 2032. - eRobertParker.com, Feb 2018

Aromatic and bright with currant and flower character. Mushroom undertones. Full-bodied, layered and chewy with lots of ripe tannins and a long, beautiful finish. Powerful. Needs three or four years to soften. Try in 2022.

Energetic loganberry and blackberry fruit pumps along, supported by a fresh-edged bay leaf and iron finish. This has concentration, but it's silky and refined.
Wine Spectator
Fine vibrant cassis fruit that is well-extracted and upfront, with complexity to come.

A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot aged in 100% new French oak barrels, the 2015 Marojallia has an earthy, meaty, gamey nose with a core of baked cherries and mulberries and a waft of dusty earth. The palate is firm, chewy, a little lean and astringent with an herbal lift.

Dark purple. Rather obvious sweet oak on the nose. Then firm, even a little uncomfortably dry, on the palate. A bit too exaggerated for me.
