Tasting Notes and Scores
Blackberry, blueberry and dark-chocolate aromas follow through to a full body with a long, chewy finish. Pretty tannin integration.

The 2020 Marojallia is an exciting wine. Inky, plush and vibrant, the 2020 possesses tremendous depth in every dimension. Mocha, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco, licorice and spice wrap around a core of dark red fruit. I only hope the bottled wine is as alluring as this barrel sample. I can't wait to taste it.

A big step-up from the second wine, with excellent depth and spice. These are sombre tannins but layered up against gentle mocha, chocolate and spiced herbs. Things lift on the finish, giving the final impression of balance and freshness - takes you on a progression through the palate, which is the mark of a successful wine.

From another gem of an estate in Margaux, the 2020 Château Marojallia offers impressive darker cherry and cassis fruits as well as notes of fresh violets, graphite, and spice. Made in a richer, medium to full-bodied, powerful style, it has plenty of chewy tannins, good mid-palate density, notable purity of fruit, and enough tannins to warrant a solid 4-6 years of bottle age.

The 2020 Marojallia has quite a feisty bouquet of perfumed violets and potpourri scents, and mainly red fruit rather than black. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity and an appealing grainy texture. The oak feels just a little heavy toward the finish, though that should be integrated with time. The firm grip suggests that this will require 3–4 years in bottle. Overall, an excellent Margaux 2020. - vinous.com

Richly colored, the wine shows an oaky edge on the nose and palate. Full-bodied, round, plush, fleshy and polished, the wine finishes with chocolate and ripe blackberries in the endnote. 90-92

A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, aging for 14 months in French oak barrels, 100% new, the 2020 Marojallia has an alcohol of 14.5%. Deep purple-black colored, it sashays out of the glass with alluring notes of fresh blueberries, red and black currants and boysenberries, with wafts of violets, cedar chest and wild sage with a hint of crushed rocks. The medium to full-bodied palate has a firm frame of grainy tannins and plenty of freshness to support the earth-laced black and red fruits, finishing a little hard.
