Tasting Notes and Scores
Tasted single blind at Southwold. This is disappointing showing from Marquis de Terme. It has a sweet, sappy nose; simple and expressive with some warmth of alcohol. The palate is sweet and cherry, more similar to a Saint Emilion with supple tannins, quite noticeable new oak and a focused finish. Nice purity but lacking some personality, which you never know, may develop with time. Drink 2011-2020. Tasted January 2009.

Herbal, underbrush notes intermixed with sweet cherry, cassis, and saddle leather characteristics are apparent in this medium-bodied 2005. Displaying rugged tannins, plenty of extract, and a rustic style, it should be at its finest between 2014-2025.

Dark crimson and some racy fruit on the nose. Quite lush fruit on the front palate but some pretty tart green tannins on the finish. This was the overall favourite of this flight. (JR)
