Tasting Notes and Scores
This is extremely well done for a difficult year with white pepper, chalk and hints of white truffle. Medium body, fine tannins and a savory finish. Drink now or hold. – jamessuckling.com, Feb 2016
James Suckling
The 2013 Montlandrie offers impressive fruit concentration on the nose with raspberry coulis and crushed strawberry, although maybe it does not quite own the same delineation as the 2013 Les Cruzelles at this stage. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, gently gripping the mouth, leading into a cedar-tinged, quite assertive finish that suggests another couple of years in bottle will do this Côtes de Castillon no harm at all.

Deep black and red currant notes mixed with white chalk and foresty notes are followed by a fruity, ripe, medium-bodied wine that is well-made and ideal for drinking over the next 5-7 years.
From the famous proprietor of one of the reference point Pomerols, L’Eglise Clinet, proprietor Denis Durantou has turned out a very good wine from the limestone soils of the Castillon. - 86-88 points - Robert Parker (Wine Advocate #214 - April 2014)

Open and easy, with a mix of cherry and pomegranate notes and a lightly crunchy, floral-tinged finish. – James Molesworth (WineSpectator.com, 2014)

Dark red plums, cherries, smoke, orange peel and spices meld together in the 2013 Montlandrie, a pretty, supple wine to drink in its youth. This is an attractive red from Denis Durantou's Castillon vineyard. The blend is 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich cherry on the nose, lovely purity and sweetness. Simple and light on the palate, with just enough tannin to give a bit of grip on the finish. Rounded, smooth, approachable. – Richard Hemming (jancisrobinson.com, April 2014)

Tasted blind. A Denis Durantou wine. Mid garnet. Sweetly oaky on the nose. Spicy and perfumed. But hard and dry on the palate. (JH)
