Tasting Notes and Scores
Including a new parcel that brought more Cabernet into the blend, the 2023 Château Montlandrie is based on 55% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc, aged in 50% new French oak. This deep purple-hued beauty has a classy, perfumed, complex, and incredibly elegant personality, offering ripe black raspberries, sappy flowers, blood orange, and a beautiful limestone-like minerality. It's medium-bodied, pure, layered, and graceful, with fine tannins, remarkable purity, and a great finish. This is one of those hidden gems that readers will love. Drink bottles over the coming 15-20 years. Drink 2026-2045. www.jebdunnuck.com March 2026

Inky colour in the glass, and dark blue fruit tones on the nose. Smells cool. So lively and full of energy but at the same time packed full of tannic power and fruit ripeness. Lovely soft sweetness as well as brisk acidity gives the full package. There’s still clear minerality giving a sense of tension so it’s not all about the weight and tannins which gives complexity. The Cabernet Sauvignon is just excellent. Fun, yet serious, layered, really drinkable with that touch of precision and finesse. Seek this out!! Classic, clean, a great Bordeaux wine. Tastes like a grand vin. Upfront and confident. Drink 2027 - 2040. Georgina Hindle February 2026

The 2023 Montlandrie is another seriously beautiful wine from sisters Constance and Noëmie Durantou. This is the first with a high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, which comes through in the wine's dark persona and strong savory inflections. The wine's depth, textual presence and dynamic personality are all exceptional by any measure. www.vinous.com March 2026

The bouquet of flowers stands out before revealing its rich cherries, mint, and chocolate that make up the aromatic profile. The medium-bodied palate balances its vibrant energy with a sweet, spicy, and bright red fruit character. There is elegance and length in the red berry finish that makes you want to take another sip afterward pit fruit finish. Give it a year or two in the cellar, and enjoy it for 15 or more years. The wine blends 55% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2027-2040. www.thewinecellarinsider.com March 2026

The 2023 Montlandrie has a bright and lively bouquet with ebullient red berry fruit, crushed stone and rose petal. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity, very harmonious, with a silky smooth finish. What a gorgeous Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. www.vinous.com February 2026
