The 2022 Monbrison has an airy bouquet with light black fruit, touches of dark chocolate and cinnamon, nicely defined if not terribly complex. The palate is medium-bodied with powdery tannins, fine acidity, showing just a little dryness toward the finish. Fine.

81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Lustrous crimson. Perfumed. Gentle texture and lots of ripe fruit (not simply sweet fruit) with the tannins well hidden. Not a dramatic wine but very well done without excesses. (JR)
