Based on 52.9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39.9% Merlot, and 7.2% Petit Verdot, the 2017 Le Pauillac De Chateau Latour shows the classic style of the vintage, yet has rock-solid density and depth as well as some Latour class. Blackcurrants, cassis, smoked tobacco, new leather, and graphite all emerge from the glass, and it's medium-bodied, textured, and elegant on the palate.

The 2017 Pauillac de Latour is deep purple in hue. The bouquet is quite floral and engaging with copious black fruit with touches of blue fruit, hints of graphite developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a fine line of acidity and linearity. It needs two or three years in bottle but this will turn into a fine Pauillac de Latour.

The third wine of the great Chateau Latour. Nicely weighted, zesty and elegant. Sweet up front fruit which finishes a little short but shows good harmony and interest. - April 2018
