Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2020 Pauillac de Latour is very flamboyant on the nose with perfumed blackberry and blueberry fruit laced with violet petals, just a hint of liquorice in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very well judged acidity, silky smooth in texture with admirable weight and composure on the finish. Excellent.

Freshly red fruit-ripe nose, quite Merlot-plummy; medium-full, fairly concentrated, vivid in acidity, very fine, discreet in tannin; a very nice depth of flavor, tasty, lightly minerally, good length of flavor, if with limited aromatic volume, and excellent light length. Plenty of matter for the wine. 2025–35+.

The estate's second wine, produced from young vines, less optimally located parcels and any declassified lots, is the 2020 Le Pauillac de Château Latour, an attractive effort redolent of sweet berries, cassis, licorice and petals. Medium to full-bodied, with lively acids, sweet tannins and a penetrating finish, it combines immediate charm with aging potential.

Tasted blind. Deep dark crimson. Gorgeously fragrant and pure black fruit. Open and aromatic. Lots of acidity here, just held in place by the other components but it is not fully meshed yet. Vibrant, juicy, finely tannic. (JH)
