Tasting Notes and Scores
This is very lively and intense, with wonderful energy and brightness. Full body with wonderful finesse. It goes on for minutes. What an amazing finish. It shows dried mangoes, lemons, apples and pineapples, but so lively and fresh. Fresh honey. Such energy. As always 100 percent sauvignon blanc, and amazing. Best ever. Get it.

Blazingly pure, with gorgeous honeysuckle, heather, green almond, green plum and verbena notes backed by a long, macadamia nut-tinged finish. There's both tension and creaminess at the same time, delivering a beautiful expression of fruit and minerality. Despite sharing the label with the second wine of the red, this is grand vin white. Tasted non-blind.-J.M.

It?s been said by many that 2011 is a great year for whites - both sweet and dry - and this would exemplify that. A whispering nose of lime, grapefruit and a touch a flinty, smoky soil precedes a palate which is just utterly explosive with citrus and tropical fruit. Oily and intense in texture but with a vivacity which defies belief, this is as good dry white Bordeaux ever needs to be. A refreshing saline finish leaves you wanting more.

[100%SB] A striking, pure, fresh, nettle, guava and passion fruit nose; richly elegant, concentrated and vital with a considerable density of flavour within a vivid defining acidity; exciting, bone dry wine with a great inner energy, mouthfilling aromas, a vigorous fruit presence and great length. Intense without being heavy, and once again so much the better for being a more moderate 13.5%. 2016-26 [M.Schuster, Bordeaux Mar/Apr 2012]

The Pavillon Blanc has a very lifted, very pure bouquet with lovely scents of dried pineapple, vanilla, white peach and honeysuckle...nigh irresistible. The palate is medium-bodied with great fruit intensity on the entry: yellow plum, vanilla, custard creams and a touch of guava wrapped up in crisp acidity from start to finish. It is very harmonious towards the finish. Superb. Tasted April 2012.

Vivid gold-tinged straw. Fresh aromas of gooseberry, melon and green fig, with hints of ginger and lime oil in the background. Bright and nicely balanced, showing an enticing chewy texture to the honeydew, green fig and herb flavors. Leaves behind a refreshing note of passion fruit on the lingering, bright finish. This Pavillon Blanc offers a rare combination of creaminess and freshness and strikes me as one of the more successful versions in recent memory. Ian D'Agata

Drink 2016-2030 Intensely aromatic - some spice, green fruit, mineral and creamy. Aromatic and complex. More savoury on the palate, mineral, dry and very long. (JH) 13.4%
