Tasting Notes and Scores
Fabulous aromas of crushed berries, black truffles and cocoa. Full body with super-integrated tannins and a beautiful finish. This is fantastic for the second wine of Lafleur although the owner says the wine comes from a specfic part of the vineyard. 52% merlot and 48% cabernet franc. Try in 2016. – jamessuckling.com, Feb 2014

The Pensées de Lafleur is a blend of 54% Merlot and 46% Cabernet Franc picked 17th and 22nd September respectively. Baptiste told me that a new plot of Cabernet Franc that was planted 11 years ago was blended into Pensées de Lafleur for the first time. It has a superb bouquet with great minerality, pretty notes of redcurrant and crushed strawberry with a hint of stone. The palate is medium-bodied with a succulent, spicy opening. The tannins have a slightly chalky texture but there is good weight in the middle, leading to a structure but not over-powering finish that displays very fine precision. – eRobertParker.com, May 2012

The 2011 Les Pensees de Lafleur is a blend of 54% Merlot and 46% Cabernet Franc. Juicy raspberry and herbal notes are accompanied by a medium-bodied mouthfeel, excellent ripeness and texture, and a savory, forward component. This 2011 should drink well for 10-15 years. 92-94 points – Robert Parker (Wine Advocate #200, April 2012)

Sweet, spicy but also dusty aroma. Much tighter on the palate than I expected, paper-fine tannins in terms of texture, but the whole is a little bit hard and bitter on the finish. (JH)
