Tasting Notes and Scores
Very good and clean fruit with currants and minerals and hints of flowers. Medium body with fine tannins and a pretty finish.
James Suckling
Features fresh-cut plum and crushed blackberry fruit married to a sleek iron edge and a hint of lightly singed vanilla bean on the finish. —J.M.

[33CS/48M/19CF] Mineral and blackberry nose; medium full, with matter, vitality and a very firm tannin; but a nice richness of fruit behind the firm frame, and a gentle complexity there too, with good light length. A more solid style in the year, will need plenty of time. 2020-28 [M.Schuster, Bordeaux Mar/Apr 2013]

The 2012 Potensac is a blend of 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Franc cropped 44hl/ha and raised in one-third new oak. It has a lifted, quite floral bouquet with subtle seaweed notes infusing the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a tough, slightly brutish entry. There is good structure here and certainly very crisp, citric acidity, but it needs to develop more flesh on the finish. Tasted April 2013.
