The 2019 Siran is a dense, potent wine. Super-ripe red cherry, red plum, rose petal, mint, spice and blood orange infuse the 2019 with notable textural richness. This is an especially unctuous style, and yet Siran offers terrific persistence and plenty of character.

Exhibiting aromas of rich currant fruit and creamy new oak, the 2019 Siran is medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, with lively acids and ripe, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully chewy finish. This is a flavorful, nicely balanced wine that will reward a bit of bottle age.

The 2019 S de Siran has a fresh red cherry and crushed strawberry scented bouquet. The palate is light-bodied with slightly dry tannins, granular texture with a touch of pencil lead on the finish.

47% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. Despite the concentrated colour this is much less concentrated on the palate than the Rauzan-Ségla. But for Siran this is clearly a great vintage. So sinewy and ambitious for a Siran! Great balance and freshness. Likely to be GV . (JR)
