The 2022 Beaune Les Boucherottes 1er Cru has a punchy nose, showing some stem addition that will require time to integrate. The palate is medium-bodied with a peppery entry, moderate depth, fine body and a very subtle meatiness toward the finish. It just needs to muster a little finesse. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.

Cask sample. A fine introduction to 'affordable' premier cru burgundy. Elegant Beaune premier cru. Mouth-filling, generous, fleshy and with an alluring touch of spice. Red-berry and cherry fruit. Fine (but firm) tannin. All in great balance already. Seems pretty GV for what it represents. (AWH)
