The 2022 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru had a lot of reduction when I tasted it from barrel, though its intensity was clear. The palate is very promising: wonderful tension here, steely and spicier than the Meursault Village, with touches of fennel and white pepper on the finish. Quite feisty and surely one for long-term aging.

Cask sample. Precise and elegant Meursault premier cru, with hints of orange blossom and crisp citrus-driven acidity to provide the all-important freshness. Excellent purity and a crystalline edge here. Good length and complexity on the finish. A Meursault which will age well, gaining additional complexity. (AWH)
