The 2017 Morey-Saint-Denis Ruchottes 1er Cru has a simple bouquet that lacks intensity and would benefit from more delineation, offering pastille-like red cherries and raspberry fruit; touches of blueberry come through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, rounded in texture, and lightly spiced, leading to a vibrant, persistent, almost Chambolle-like finish. Gorgeous. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
