Tasting Notes and Scores
Soaring from the glass with scents of raspberries, plums and cherries, mingled with inviting nuances of peonies and dark chocolate, Lachaux's 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with lively acids and exquisitely refined tannins that frame a deep and sapid core of fruit.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village has a very harmonious, slightly earthy bouquet, the 100% whole bunch lending a very discreet tertiary/ sous-bois quality. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit (cranberry, strawberry and pomegranate). This has quite strict tannins and a Morey-inspired, sapid finish. Good potential.

1.62 ha in five plots at the top of the Chambolle slope, near the limestone cliffs, all facing north and north-east. 100% whole bunch. Mid, transparent cherry red. A little more stemmy than the Nuits-St-Georges but still subtle. Peppery freshness to the scented dark-red fruit. Just wafts out of the glass with a gentle floral and red-fruited character that is pure Chambolle. Utterly moreish and mouth-watering. Gentle, supple, refined in every way and so persistent in its gentleness and freshness. The tannins are succulent and deliciously finely dry on the finish. (JH)
