The 2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Corvées Pagets, one of Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux's emblematic wines, wafts from the glass with a complex bouquet of plums, candied peel, violets and raspberries. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and complete, with a deep core of fruit, crystalline purity, and fine-grained but chalky tannins. Structurally, this is classic Premeaux.

Medium red. Sexy aromas of raspberry, blackberry, flowers and spices. A step up in texture from Les Procès, but with its fat and sweetness nicely countered by harmonious acidity. This juicy wine finishes firm and floral, if without quite the precision or thrust of Les Procès.

Light to mid cherry. Bright, lightly herbal red fruit. Much drier on the palate than the village Vosne but longer too. Less immediate pleasure and more for the longer term. Tight and well defined, persistent too. (JH)
