This is more deeply pitched as it combines plenty of Vosne spice and floral notes with plum and dark currant scents. The energetic middle weight flavors possess a beguiling texture as the supporting tannins are well-integrated and notably ripe plus the dusty and mouth coating finish is well-balanced and solidly persistent.

(just racked and sulfured): Good deep red. Spices and flowers on the nose. Spicy on entry, then juicy and reticent in the middle, with cool element of menthol suggesting moderate ripeness. Still a bit closed but finishes with good length and tannic grip.

Not much on the nose, but the palate has a pleasantly clean, well-defined fruit. Not much excitement beyond that, mind. Faint spices. Shortish. (RH)
