Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières derives from a parcel situated next to Grivault's Clos des Perrières. Unwinding in the glass with scents of musky peach, white flowers, fresh pear and nutmeg, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with fine tension at the core, racy acids and a long, mineral finish.

The 2017 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru presents a light apple blossom, crushed rock and jasmine nose, quintessentially Perrières in style. The palate has a candied opening with orange zest and a touch of peach. Pretty and vibrant, although it does not possess the tension of Comtes-Lafon’s Perrières that preceded it. Drink over the next 12–14 years. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting in Savigny-lès-Beaune.

Tank sample. Super-inviting aroma of citrus fruit and something between rocks and spice that is zesty and fragrant. Impressive concentration on the palate. This has depth but a very precise, clean-cut profile on the palate, with really good length. (JH)
