The 2020 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru has a tightly wound bouquet with black cherries, raspberry, undergrowth and light ash aromas. Complex. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine depth, quite sweet on the entry but just missing a little tension on the finish.

Deep ruby; rich and thick with great confected-fruit concentration. Not jammy, but definitely confiture! Real depth, surprisingly open and flattering today. Tannins tidily tucked away and discreet – but the structure is there. (MH)
