Tasting Notes and Scores

(in tank; one of the four barrels was new but Leroux fermented a bit of Pinot in it first; vinified with 25% whole clusters): Healthy dark red. Deeper scents of redcurrant and dark cherry. Offers a bit more texture than the Savigny-lès-Beaune but this wine is distinctly more backward and shows a medicinal quality from the stem element.

In tank. Not frosted. His own vineyards, 2.2 ha there including Meursault premier cru. Bright crimson. Masses of sweet, gentle fruit with impressive undertow. Grainy and full of fruit. Long and fresh. (JR)
